These effects are usually mild and settle within 24–48 hours. Your osteopath will explain any expected reactions before treatment and answer any questions you may have.

Yes. Osteopathic treatment is generally considered safe when carried out by a fully qualified, insured & registered osteopath.
Treatment is always tailored to your individual needs, and techniques can be avoided or modified if they are not appropriate.

Shockwave therapy can be uncomfortable, especially over tender areas. Treatment is adjusted to your comfort level, and any discomfort usually settles shortly after the session. Most patients tolerate treatment well and are able to continue with their normal activities afterwards.Some patients may have temporary soreness, tenderness, redness or mild bruising after treatment. These effects typically only last a maximum of a few days.
Your first appointment includes a detailed discussion about your symptoms, medical history and lifestyle, followed by an assessment and, where appropriate, treatment. We’ll explain our findings, discuss your options and provide advice to help support your recovery.
We recommend you wear comfortable clothing that allows the affected area to be examined. Shorts, sports leggings, sports bra, T-shirt or a vest top can be helpful for some conditions, but towels are available if needed. We try to keep undressing to a minimum & if you aren't comfortable we can usually work around this.
Yes. Osteopathic treatment can often help with the aches, pains and postural changes that may occur during pregnancy, such as back pain, pelvic girdle pain and discomfort related to changing posture. Treatment is always adapted to the stage of your pregnancy and your individual needs, using techniques that are appropriate for you. Your osteopath will take a full medical history and discuss your symptoms before recommending any treatment.
Your first consultation is 45 minutes.
Follow-up appointments are 30 minutes.
Shockwave appointments are 15 - 30 minutes.
Online appointments are 15 - 30 minutes.
This depends on what your complaint or problem. You will be advised at your first consultation. In general, early intervention or treatment is vital in acute complaints however chronic or long-standing complaints may take more time to resolve. The aim is to keep your appointments to a minimum.
No. You do not need to see your doctor first if you are paying for your own treatment. It is advisable to contact your insurance company as some may require you to see your doctor first.
You are welcome to bring a family member, chaperone or carer if it helps you feel more comfortable. They are welcome to stay for part or all of your treatment.
Its requested that a minimum of 24hours notice is given prior to cancelling or changing your appointment.
Failure to do so will result in the full consultation fee being charged.
You can use our online booking to change or reschedule your appointments.
Before any assessment or treatment begins, your osteopath will explain their findings, discuss the recommended treatment options and answer any questions you may have. Treatment will only proceed with your informed consent, and you are free to ask questions or withdraw your consent at any time.
No. The practice does not currently provide osteopathic treatment for babies. If you are looking for osteopathic care for your baby, we recommend consulting an osteopath with specific experience in paediatric practice.
Payment is requested at the time of booking your appointment to ensure patients attend their appointments. We encourage patients to book online & your card details are securely stored on your profile.
We also have a contactless card machine.
Unfortunately due to low fee constraints for private health companies we are not covered by most insurance companies. Please do check with your individual insurance company prior to booking. We request all patients settle their invoice with us directly & you may be able to claim this back.

We treat patients aged 14 years and over.
A parent or guardian will need to provide consent before treatment begins, and we recommend they are involved & present in the consultation where appropriate.
Patients aged 18 years and over can attend independently and provide their own consent.
Parking is available nearby at Morrisons, Monument Hill car park & Baker Street car park.
A blue badge parking space is available in front of the practice on Monument Green.
We have toilets available in the practice.
The treatment room is located on the first floor & can be accessed by stairs.
